Taylor Momsen's Demo?

Taylor Momsen has a band called The Pretty Reckless. I first heard about it when several bloggers reported she would make the costumes for their upcoming tour, which is the most awesome way to have a celebrity line. Anywho, the New York Post suspects that this could be the band's demo. Taylor's voice is pretty good; but, I don't know how I feel about the song. I get that she's trying to do the whole Karen O. thing with the yelps and shouting and stuff, but I don't think that really works for a girl who's only 15. I don't know. Am I alone in this?

Whitney Pulls a Lauren

Does being on a reality show and "working" in fashion makes you a designer?  That's what The Hills girls seem to think.  We've all seen Lauren and Heidi's design efforts, but are you ready for Whitney?  Pictures of her Fall collection for her line, Whitney Eve, popped up on FabSugar today, and I have to say it's not that bad.  It's more on trend than LC's line; and, it looks like there are few, if any, jersey pieces.  That said, it's still not that good.  You could probably buy this stuff at Top Shop next fall AND you wouldn't have the guilt that comes with having Whitney Port's name on the tag.

Gweneth Adds Designer to Her Resume

Gweneth Paltrow is designing a capsule collection for French label ZOEtee's.  There will be seven looks in the collection and it's called ZOEtee's Loves Gweneth Paltrow.  WWD calls the collection "a melange of Seventies glamour, rock inspiration, and men's casual suiting.  Here are some sketches that Ms. Paltrow did herself.

Zooey Deschanel + Oliver Peoples

Zooey Deschanel can now add "designer" to her resume, because she's designed a collection for sunglass brand Oliver Peoples.  The sunglasses bring a cute, 50s twist to the classic Ray-Ban Wayfarer, and they come in tons of colors.  I'm a fan of the clear-beige ones, although the red or tortoise shell may look better against my skin.  There's just one problem:  I have a natural aversion to Ray-Ban and Wayfarer-esque sunglasses.  Ever since I saw everyone wearing them at SXSW last year, I've decided they were too played out.  Plus, they're often too small for my face.  Either way, they're cute.  Hopefully they'll be available at Saks, which I know carries Oliver Peoples, so I can decide if they're really worth $415.
