Olivier Theyskens for Theory Spring 2011

Theory's decision to hire Olivier Theyskens was sort of a gamble; I remember thinking that the collaboration sounded totally ridiculous. But I have to say that I totally love this. It's minimal and kind of gothic, but fits the Theory brand by being (mostly) work appropriate. The whole collection sort of recalls Ann Demuelemeester, whom I love. If I had a corporate office job, this would totally be my wardrobe.

Nina Ricci Spring '10

Although Peter Copping's first collection for Nina Ricci does not top Olivier Theysken's AMAZING swan song for the house, I'm really digging this boudoir-inspired collection. We've seen this trend before at Fendi and Marc Jacobs, but Copping is the only designer who, in my opinion, has gotten it right. It's romantic, yet unkempt, and has just the right amount of sexiness and quirk. If this is what Peter Copping brings to the house, I definitely want to see more.
