VPL Needs Interns

NYC based brand, VPL, is looking for production interns for the summer in NYC.  The internship is mostly administrative, with interns working directly with designers and production coordinator.   Interns will also attend fittings and assist on various aspects of design, merchandising, and sales.  

Duties include:

• Research and sourcing fabrics, trims/buttons, etc
• Keeping stock organized
• Assisting with seasonal shipments
• Speccing garments
• Preparing cutter/'s musts and cutting tickets
• Communicating between VPL and factories
• Communicating with dyers, cutters, and various other vendors
• Maintaining quality control in garments

Etro Needs Interns

Etro is looking for a few awesome people to intern in their PR dept. in NYC.  

General duties include:

• Update and maintain press list
• Track samples (check in/out samples, organize shipments, etc)
• Organize press materials (press kits, look book mailings, etc)
• Organize and maintain magazine and video archive
• Maintain showroom appearance
• Research for upcoming projects and events
• Assist with day-to-day office activites

Qualifications

• MUST have an interest in fashion and public relations
• MUST be available at least 2 days per week
• Must have a great attitude, be proactive, hard working, ambitious, and ready to learn
• Must be able to work under deadline, prioritize duties, multi-task, and be organized
• Strong computer skills - primarily Excel, Word and PowerPoint

• Machine friendly: phone, fax, copy machine, and computer

LVMH Needs Interns!

LVMH, the corporate giant that owns pretty much every luxery brand you've ever heard of (like Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs, and Fendi), is looking for PR interns!

Responsibilities include:

• Carrying out special event planning activities and arrangements as outlined by the Public Relations Manager i.e. rentals, catering, deliveries, on-site entertainment, flyers, invitations…

• Assisting with Vendor Management including, but not limited to printing materials, renting audio/visual equipment, photography, graphic arts services or supplying products

• Assisting with maintenance of media lists and other databases • Analyzing monthly PR statistic reports and assist with monthly reporting to Paris

• Assisting with the management of newspaper and periodical inventories for easy access. Track and file newspapers clippings and magazines major credits. Tracks and compiles fundraising and/or events press and data.

• Assisting with administrative duties including faxing, processing, mailings, gifting and other ad-hoc projects.

Requirements:

Public Relations Intern must be actively enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, a University with a concentration in Public Relations, Marketing, Advertising or other related program. Must be energetic, organized, with a sharp attention to detail and accuracy, have good interpersonal and written skills. Must be result driven and demonstrate the ability to interact professionally with all clients. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office and database management is necessary.

Role Functions

Fashion powerhouse,  Christian Dior, needs interns in the logistics department! 

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Create and maintain files for arriving shipments, as well as shipment follow up, notifying external Sales dept., retail merchants, Retail Merchangts, and 3rd party logistics teams of arriving import shipments
• Manage aspects of allocation and ensure most efficient performance through a 3rd party logistics provider
• Perform entry auditing on import documents, relating to tariff classification and duty rates, record import entries & liquidation notices
• Work on special projects as needed

Skills and Competencies

The internship is in NYC, and runs from the 1st week of June to the middle of August.  Sadly, its unpaid; but in this economic climate, I wouldn't hold out for a paid one.  Interns are expected to work Mon-Thurs from 10-6pm

Oh, and by the Way . . .

I got an internship at the PR dept. at French Connection!!!!!!!!!!!  

You know, that one I've been stressing out over what to wear for like weeks.  Welllllllllll . . .  I got it! Yay!  I'm so so so so so excited to learn so much more about the fashion industry and how PR works and everything.  Its such a great opportunity and I'm so exiteddddddd!  Hey, maybe I'll meet Anderson Cooper while I'm there?  So I'll be living in Manhattan this summer with my fabulous best friend, Kathryn.  So watch out, because we're going to take the city by storm!  And by take it by storm I mean be really hard working interns, because thats just us.  Anywho, if you live in New York you should hit us up!  And if you don't, you should also get an internship there, and we can all be internship buddies! Yay!

So, today is my 20th birthday and I only want one thing.  Well, one of many things.  I want a fashion internship in New York.  So far I've applied to the PR dept. at French Connection, The Saavy, and I'm currently preparing my applications for the YSL PR dept.  Keep your fingers crossed!  Oh, and if you know of any internships, let me know!
