Louis Vuitton Spring 2011
LOVE. Marc Jacobs was obviously inspired by 1920s era Art Deco and orientalism, which, if you don't know, are some of my favorite things. This is my favorite period in art and fashion, and I'm so happy to see modern designers interpret it in such great ways. Yay!

Louis Vuitton Spring '10
Um, what is wrong with Marc Jacobs lately? I'm so confused. First, his not-so-great eponymous collection, and now this for Louis Vuitton. Apparently his inspiration was "travelers - the movement that came after punk" and "city utilitarianism." If by travelers, he means social anarchists, crust punks, and gutter punks, I'm even more confused. I know some of those kids, and they could care less about Louis Vuitton and fashion in general. Is this really the message he wants to send to the Louis Vuitton customer? They probably don't even know about travelers. I'm so confused. It's not like the collection was good, but not very Louis Vuitton-ish. It was bad, just bad.

Kanye's Kicks
The ad's for Kanye West's Louis Vuitton sneakers leaked today. The shoes look cool, I guess. I still think they look like colorful marshmallows for your feet. And is Kanye selling shoes in this ad, or himself? I choose the latter.

LVMH Needs Interns!
LVMH, the corporate giant that owns pretty much every luxery brand you've ever heard of (like Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs, and Fendi), is looking for PR interns!
Responsibilities include:
• Carrying out special event planning activities and arrangements as outlined by the Public Relations Manager i.e. rentals, catering, deliveries, on-site entertainment, flyers, invitations…
• Assisting with Vendor Management including, but not limited to printing materials, renting audio/visual equipment, photography, graphic arts services or supplying products
• Assisting with maintenance of media lists and other databases
• Analyzing monthly PR statistic reports and assist with monthly reporting to Paris
• Assisting with the management of newspaper and periodical inventories for easy access. Track and file newspapers clippings and magazines major credits. Tracks and compiles fundraising and/or events press and data.
• Assisting with administrative duties including faxing, processing, mailings, gifting and other ad-hoc projects.
Requirements:Public Relations Intern must be actively enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, a University with a concentration in Public Relations, Marketing, Advertising or other related program. Must be energetic, organized, with a sharp attention to detail and accuracy, have good interpersonal and written skills. Must be result driven and demonstrate the ability to interact professionally with all clients. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office and database management is necessary.
