Does anyone even read this at all? I don't know. Maybe I should get a little more serious about taking pictures of my outfits every day. Sadly, I don't have a ridiculous designer collection (a la Jane Aldrige), nor am I 13. Oh well.

Top: Zara (was a dress, but it looked crazy, so I cut it into a top. I messed it up, but it turned out pretty cool anyways.
Skirt: French Connection
Shoes, clogs: Jeffrey Campbell

Remember when I hated clogs?

Ya, that didn't last . . .

Deb Ball!

Last night my family and I attended my friend Kathryn's Debutante Ball. The ball was at the Houston Country Club and there were about twenty girls who were in it. All the debutante's wore wedding dresses. I felt that some were a bit cheesy, but Kathryn's was so beautiful. The dress code was black tie, so I got to wear a gown, yay! I wore a navy BCBG gown and a French Connection necklace. I feel like the dress really accentuated my curvy figure, which I liked. I felt so pretty and glamourous! I haven't worn a long gown since high school, and it was nice to dress up again. I'm not quite sure who made my sister's dress. Here are some pictures.

bad. ass. coat.

So I found this coat the other day at this vintage store in the Heights, Retropolis. (If you haven't been there, I suggest you go right now. It's a vintage treasure trove, you have no idea). The coat is from the 1940s and is in EXCELLENT condition; the fit is perfect and the fur is still super soft. The best part? It was only $89. That's less than what a dinky wool coat from Urban Outfitters would cost. AND IT'S SIXTY YEARS OLD. That's older than my dad, people. I may have the fur cuffs removed. I'm not sure. What do you think?

Reflections on Lookbook.

Look Book. I've been a member of LookBook for about 6 months now and I have an insane love/hate relationship with it. I love Look Book for many reasons. It's so fun to see what kids around the world wear, and how they express themselves through fashion. I love that feeling I get when people like my look. And, it's a great place to get style inspiration.

I also hate Look Book for many reasons. Most of the looks the people on Look Book that have superhigh Karma and averages have really cool pictures, not necessarily amazing looks. Its almost like these people have photographer boyfriends or something. I don't have that and I feel like people may not like my looks because my pictures aren't cool enough, not because my style sucks. Also, all the looks are pretty much the same. EVERYONE dresses like Erin Wasson or Rumi Neely. Don't get me wrong, I think those girls have great style, but it just seems like being trendy is more important than having a unique style on Look Book. Lastly, everyone is really skinny. Although there's absolutely nothing wrong with being thin, there are so many stylish girls out there who are bigger than a size 2. I don't think those girls get much attention on sites like Look Book.

Basically Look Book makes me feel a little insecure sometimes. Does it have that effect on you, or am I the only one?

Current Obsession: Swimwear

Summer is just around the corner (in Texas, anyways); and, with finals over in 2 days, my mind wanders to thoughts of the pool and the beach. I've always been really picky about my swimsuits. Over the years, I've sort of learned that old fashioned cuts look best on my body. Here is some swimwear I've been obsessing over.

Chloe, $380, Net-a-Porter

Princess Tam Tam, $92, saks.com

Also, I have my favorite swimsuit ever. I got it at a vintage shop a few years ago and I'm still so in love with it.

Remember that dress that I bought the other day? I wore it today! It's really floaty and comfy. Perfect for spring weather! Sorry my room is messy. Its about time for spring cleaning.

I've decided to add a little more personal style to my blog.  I think I look pretty cute today, if you ask me.
One of the reasons I'm starting a personal style segment is that I feel like all the personal style sites I see and subscribe to always feature tiny, stick thin girls.  As you can see, I'm not that tiny.  I think its important for women of all ages to embrace the body they've been given and to be confident in it!
What do y'all think?  Should I keep going with this, or should I keep it impersonal?

They Have Arrived!

Remember that Chloe sale I told you about last week?  Well, I ordered some sunglasses and they have arrived!  I can't decide if I really like them.  What do you think?
