Disappointed.

By now you all must know how much I love Nylon.  If you don't know, I love it alot.  But I have to say this month's issue was a yawn.  Although I did like the bit about the Baltimore music scene. That was awesome.  Getting back to the point . . .
I blame the cover girl, Camilla Belle.  I get it, she's pretty and sweet and can act blah blah blah.  But isn't everyone?  Ok not everyone, but you know what I mean.  That's the usual banter about every cover girl of pretty much every magazine ever made.  I'm just saying her spread really bored me.  The styling was ok, but it doesn't really make up for the fact that she's not the best model. I mean, I don't expect her to be Caroline or anything, but still.  Lily Allen's spread last month was so much more adorable.   Also, the cover is really boring.  Couldn't they have picked a more exciting picture?  It's so stiff and assumed.  Camilla even looks uncomfortable.  Yikes.
Aside from Camilla, I feel like Nylon has been making poor choices in the cover girl department for awhile now.  They have some awesome girls on the cover, don't get me wrong, but every now and then  they're choices just confuse me:  Paris Hilton?  90210 Girls? I just don't get it.  Ah well . . . And then there's the magazine's obsession with Peaches Geldof and Cory Kennedy.  But that's a completely different matter.
I LOVE NYLON, but I expect much better from such an awesome publication.

  1. The only cover I really liked from last year was the one for Zooey Deschanel. It's starting to look like every other magazine and it's making me reconsider renewing it for another year.
