Lanvin Fall 09

Alber Elbaz's latest collection for Lanvin was very sensible.  Its very obvious that Elbaz had the recession in mind.  His pieces this season are more wearable for every day than those of seasons past.  With mostly black and grey pieces, the collection took on a somber tone; but, there were glimpses of optimism in the occasional sparkles and statement necklaces.  The collection was full of investment pieces, and that's what a woman's bank account needs right now: an investment.  But what about her spirit?  These clothes are smart, but they don't let you escape, even if for a moment, like the glamorous, 80s inspired collections I've seen all season.
