Vogue May Cover Disappoints

US Vogue's May issue is always my favorite of the year because models are on the cover.    Although the glossy won't hit newsstands for another week, the cover leaked today.  Liya Kebede, Natalia Vodianova, and Anna Jagodzinska made the cover.  Liya is the 3rd Black woman on the cover of Vogue for 3 consecutive months, which I think is big for Anna.  The cover unfolds to reveal 6 more models:  Isabeli Fontana, Jourdan Dunn, Raquel Zimmermann, Lara Stone, Caroline Trentini, and Natasha Poly.

I was actually pretty surprised that Caroline didn't make the cover;  she's an obvious favorite of Anna's.  It was also a surprise (albeit, a wonderful one) to see Lara Stone on the cover.  Although she's favorite of Carine Roitfeld (Vogue Paris's February issue was all about her), Lara's never been in US Vogue.  And, there was some talk of Anna removing a girl from the cover because of a "distasteful" spread in Vogue Paris.  That spread could be this one of Lara.  Nevertheless, Lara is on the cover and looking gorgeous!

Overall, I was disappointed with the years cover.  I would like to have seen more models that have risen to fame in the past year or so, like Eniko or Heidi.  Compared to 2007's wonderful May issue, this one's a dud.
